The saga continues. I’m still alive, despite not recording anything since Summer 2017. A lot has happened, including previewing material for Edinburgh, then Edinburgh, then the post/aftermath/comedown of Edinburgh. Okay, so it seems that everything has been focused on Edinburgh but that’s all over now and a bright new dawn is approaching… working towards Edinburgh… 2019?!
Lee Wilson is back and there is no-one that is going to stop him now.

Modern technology lets me down this week (well, it was my own ineptitude really) so doing a joke involving old media seems highly appropriate. I’m working on my Edinburgh material, I think I mention this several times in this episode for which I make no apologies (sorry about that) but it’s what I’m thinking about ALL THE BLOODY TIME at the moment.

Time to try build the audience for Comedy in The Crown before I take back control of the hosting duties. Comedy in The Crown is a bloody good night and all it needs now is a regular audience to take it to the next level. Fingers crossed.
This episode has lots of visual elements (well, not the podcast, but the vodcast certainly does) so now might be the right time to head over to YouTube to see what the fuss is all about… however, if you are easily disturbed, maybe give this one a miss… You Should Be So Lucky!

Video killed the podcast sta… erm, unknown?
After the avalanche of positive feedback for Joking Around, The Video Years, here is the second (74th) installment.
Three gigs in the space of 5 days, does this mean I’m going in hard? Or is it just an escape from real life? Check out the next amazing episode of Joking Around to find out.
From the next episode, I shall not be vod/podcasting the video element on itunes. What I propose to do is stick it all on the youtube channel and release an audio version on the podcast feed. The reason for this is so it doesn’t gobble up all your data allowance and hog all your storage. Does that make sense? Bottom line is, you can listen to me the same as you always have via the podcast but if you want to see the footage, go to youtube.

It’s the end of he year and what better way to finish than with another jaunt at Comedy in The Crown?! I’m on MCing duties, there were ups and downs and a particularly good start to the second half with a roaring finale. Light the Yule Log and pour yourself a glass of Baileys whilst nibbling on a mince pie… it’s the last Joking Around of the year.
Next year, I’ll change the intro to this blurb so that it gets right to the heart without that annoying and out dated Ones man’s journey bollocks… (oh yeah, there’s a bit of swearing in this one too – sorry)

Episode 71 – Holidays Are Coming
This time last year I had written a special Christmas Set and was in the middle of taking it to various open mics around London trying to improve it. The aim was to have a set that would be my “go to” set for festive gigs. I’ve progressed as a comic (no, I have!) so I’ve dumped that set and written a brand new one, encompassing my music based stand up. I’ve only done it once so far and, well, I’ve only got one other gig in December, so it may not get a lot of development this year. Oh, well, there’s always 2017.

Oh yeah, it’s so hard to do comedy! Do me a favour. All you have to do is write some thoughts and then say them out loud. I attempt to explain why that’s sometimes so difficult and then proceed to just go and bloody well do it. Stop whining like a baby, Lee, you love doing this so just get on with it. Features a shouty Andy Onions cameo – love him!
