On Thursday, 6th November 2014, history was made. 4am CAB went live. That is to say, we performed a few sketches in front of an audience.
It was brilliant!
As it was an experiment and I didn’t know if it would work, I kept the circle small and tasked Anna & Chris with the job. They rose to the challenge with aplob.
We did the deed at The Freedom Fridge, Rose and Crown in Kentish Town. It’s a regular weekly open mic gig on a Thursday and it attracts a good atmosphere with a mix of performers and real people in the audience. I’ve been along to a few of their nights, so I knew it would be a receptive place for us to take our first steps as a live sketch act.
I picked out three sketches from our podcast that I felt would work as visual sketches: Superbloke and Superlady; Facebook Like & Nigel the Urban Ninja. The first sketch went down really well, Facebook Like probably could have been rewritten to make it a bit tighter and the Ninja sketch (my favourite from Series 3!) probably works better as an audio sketch. It was great fun to do and we’ve learned a lot even from 5 minutes on stage.
Here is the video from our first ever live performance!

Could this be the end of the 4am Creative Advertising Bureau?
Ian and our merry band of creatives have been called to the Chairman’s office, this can’t be good? Will the plug be pullled? Will they all be made to re-apply for their jobs? Will the coffee machine ever get fixed? All may be revealed in this thrilling finale to series 3. Or something.
Elsewhere, Lennard and Darby are trying to diffuse the situation, Helen and Ian are struggling with information overload and Derek takes an unappreciated call. Meanwhile, poor Tim can’t seem to get the wording right and Live Tweeting takes on a whole new level.
Don’t miss the final episode of 4am CAB… or you’ll have to buy the Boxset. The end is Nigh, or is that near?

Things are changing at the 4am Creative Advertising Bureau.
Fleur is wide awake in the small hours and making cupcakes when she learns her future is uncertain. Ian attempts some firefighting but it might be too late. Does this mean that Brett will have to fall back on being a Doctor? Well, at least there are baked goods.
Meanwhile in the future, Chris is getting lost, Dez & Charlie are finishing each other’s sentences, Sharkov and Chang may (or may not) have developed the greatest achievement of mankind and Steven Frost has woken from a very long sleep and is feeling a bit woozy.
Roll up, roll up get your fags and tech products here. It’s time to go back to the generic MP3 device for the penultimate episode of Series 3 (not including the Christmas Special – if we decide to do one.)
Oooh, would you close that door, there’s a terrible stink coming in!?

The 4am Creative Advertising Bureau have a new assignment.
The Japanese want to take an English delicacy and rebrand it. Fleur and Martin are ready to take on the considerable challenge but Brett has been listening to chinese whispers. This could all go to pot if they’re not careful.
Rupert and Beryl are breaking up whereas Mr Darcy is about to the pop the question and our roving reporter ventures oop north. Debbie, meanwhile, is finding James a bit hard to swallow.
4am CAB puts on it’s airs and graces before embarrassing itself by using the wrong fork. It’s time for the fourth episode of Series 3 – what oh!
Watch out for the Angry priest!

It’s very quiet at the 4am Creative Advertising Bureau today.
Cheryl calls in a favour from Martin who takes his new responsibilities very seriously. With great power comes a great deal of arsing around, especially when the coffee machine is still knackered. Meanwhile, Brett has lost his passport, Fleur has lost the plot and Ian has lost the thing he finds most precious. Oh and what do you think of when you hear Turkey Timeshare?
We have an extremely limited range of actors for hire, we eavesdrop on a couple of unconventional interviews and all the while James is struggling to pick up his daily perk me up. Also, if they can get their act together, The Mob might just have the answer to all their problems.
4am CAB dusts off it’s best suit and joins the sweaty commute for the third episode of Series 3
Oh, and watch out for Nigel.

Another day dawns on the 4am Creative Advertising Bureau.
New kid on the block, Martin, is very excited. Today he joins the 4am CAB team – not that he’s getting paid though, much to his mothers annoyance. It’s a dog eat dog food world out there.
We unleash the trailer for the next big summer blockbuster, Tim has a date but is struggling to tell the time and Gav ‘n’ Trixie are bashing their heads together and seeing stars. There are a pair of hot blooded slugs, the eternal search for the potato peeler and we get lovey-dovey in the poetry club.
We get crazy in love for the second episode of Series 3 – maybe you should buy your man some flowers?

Welcome to the 4am Creative Advertising Bureau. Brett is enduring a self-inflicted mid-twenties crisis, Cheryl is having a bakery emergency, Fleur just wants the coffee machine to work and all the while Ian is living in his own little world. The 4am CAB is open for business, just.
Meanwhile, there’s a wardrobe malfunction of epic proportions, the local constabulary is piloting a new identity concept, and there’s nothing but repeats on the radio.
4amCAB returns, just like it’s never been away.

4am CAB returns on the 15th July 2014 with Series 3.
Ian has commissioned an advert to tell you all about the 4am Creative Advertising Bureau, or 4am CAB as it’s know in the industry. The Voice Over guy has an attitude but thankfully there’s a spare hanging around. Ian thinks it’s a good idea to be in the advert himself.
We’re gearing up for the new series, what could go wrong?!
Episode 1 is almost here.

The studio is booked and the actors are primed, everything is set for the final curtain (is there a curtain in podcasting?!) The only problem is, well, Lee. He’s not turned up. What will the gang do if Lee doesn’t show? Why is there no script? And is Rachel real? There’s only one way to find out.
Meanwhile, Gary is settling down to open the Christmas presents he’s bought himself, Helen is talking to herself and Facebook have a brand new app to get you in the spirit. And there’s a half written sketch about stuffing too.
Merry Christmas to you all!
